This is a real quickie. It's interesting Smallpools decided to cover Pray For Me, but the energy and range of the Smallpools frontman (I forgot his name) don't match The Weeknd. They also put in tons of shimmery synthes that really distract from the music and mess with it on any speakers but reall really good ones. And the art is bad and makes no sense. What's going on Smallpools? If you want to be a fun little indie pop band, do that! Get more emotive lyrics and guitar! If you want to be the Chainsmokers, get more well done and catchy songs! They're not even as good or popular as there counterpart, Cheat Codes. They're not assault to your ears, they just don't fit anywhere into the music scene at all.

Bastille has steadily been releasing non-album singles for everything from soundtracks to record store day since "Wild World" in 2016. And know they're truly back- with the first single from their next album. And does it seem like a hit? Oh boy, it does, and it's an excellent song to boot. Their first album you no doubt know was pretty successful, with multiple hits, and their second album tried to match it but didn't really make it. Now we have this: the start of a new era for Bastille, fully in control of everything they do, perfectly in the massive universal pop rock vein. The song has a great instrumental, with various keyboards and synths backed with interesting drum samples and a reasonable amount of guitar. The crafting is excellent structure and the hallmarks of Bastille sing along bits, call and response, Dan Smith's unique vocals, and production that clearly shows that it's made by smart and connected band.
