Walking The Wire Imagine Dragons Review
Imagine Dragons have released their second promotional single for their upcoming third album, Evolve. The song is by far a better song than their previous singles, for a variety of important reasons. Mainly, it sounds like could actually be played live and sound pretty much the same, a big plus for band that actually uses real instruments. In addition, it furthers Imagine Dragons' arena rock sound, but seems a lot more chill. It is bass heavy, and keeps Dan Reynolds' voice to a non- synthesized "low". Somehow, it seems like their earlier pre-Its Time songs, with more variation lyrically. I also think that the guitar is an excellent way to close the song, which seems to be a common theme among recent alternative and indie rock The only drawbacks are its muted guitar, as in believer. It also seems a bit too sedate, but is mainly okay. It doesn't really feel engineered to be a fan favorite as in Believer and Thunder, but is still pretty good. The song really needs a guitar to give it more character, which would vastly improve it. Overall, the song is a great herald of what Imagine Dragons can do if they relax a bit, and is much easier listening. It has a few drawbacks, but is definitely a good addition to the already popular lineup of their new album. It also is similar to their earlier singles, which means that Imagine Dragons is finally finding a unified style, which can only help their career.
