Always Ascending- Franz Ferdinand review

Image result for always ascendingThe description on YouTube said that their new album was going to continue to have sonic experimentation, and that kind of sums up this whole song. It starts off with a slow piano backed retro style call and response between the main singer and the backup singer(drummer), and then moves in to filtered dance rock. The dance rock is two pretty filtered guitars, one filtered to be almost keyboard like, the other low volume and funky, backed by a traditional House ascending synth. This really seems like they're covering The Killers, instead of their normal guitar based rock. It's expertly layed out though, and is definitely worth listening to if its not as good as their previous music. It certainly improves on The Killers' style, bringing a UK rock feel that would really help to make the general sound better. Their next album will certainly be pretty interesting, and I know I'm definitely going listen to it, hopefully it will all be as good as this song.
