Top 10 The Neighbourhood Songs

The Neighbourhood isn't my favorite band, but they've put out some pretty good tracks. Some of them I listen to a lot, some i haven't even heard. The idea for this list came to me in a flash a minute ago, and I decided to post it. So without further ado, the TOP TEN BEST SONGS OF THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:

1. Crybaby- This really should've been the lead single for Wiped Out!. With its excellent and charismatic lyrics and surprisingly good instrumentals(we're talking real guitar here not sure many people know what that's like anymore) and the right amount of publicity, this could've done as well if not better than Sweater Weather, and is frankly a waste of potential as a veritable B-side.

2. RIP 2 My Youth- This has become a sort of anthem for me, and I've listened to it more times than I can count. The lyrics are excellent, and the drums really carry it. It shouldn't have been the first single for Wiped Out!, but it did a damn good job anyway.

3. Afraid- I happened upon this song  on you tube a couple years ago and listened to it on repeat for a week. While too dark compared to Sweater Weather to be played on the radio, it should've been, and also has been an anthem of sorts for me.

4. 24/7- As you may have read in my review of the Hard EP, I believe that the Neighbourhood is going through a renaissance. They've finally found the mix of Indie Rock and Hip Hop that suits Jesse Rutherford, and with this prime example of that I believe they could go a long way.

5. The Beach- An excellent haunting song that actually manages to take the preponderance of Wiped Out! and do something with it, this is definitely worth a listen. While not particularly powerful or anthemic, it make up for it with its excellent narrative.

6. Sweater Weather- The Neighbourhood's fast paced breakout hit, it just goes to show that hits can be hits for a reason. While with bands like Imagine Dragons having some of their weakest songs becoming hits and pop stars not having a single good song, this is probably one of the best songs on I Love You. and deserves all the attention.

7. No Grey- One of the many songs not part of an album in The Neighbourhood's discography, this sparse song really should've been an A-side. With its very meaningful lyrics(probably the best of any song to come out of Jesse Rutherford's head) and haunting instrumentals, its placed right up there with Afraid RIP 2 My Youth as one of The Neighbourhood's angsty anthems.

8. Noise- Another good song off of Hard, it marks The Neighbourhood's best foray in to Indie Rock and will definitely be a crowd pleaser among die hard fans.

9. A Moment of Silence- This isn't a good song, because just like it's title suggests, it isn't anything. What it really is is an uproarious but enviable business concept- they literally sold nothing. They got at least a dollar off of sales of nothing. How cool is that?!

10. Alleyways- A Sir Sly-esque electropop blast, this song helps pad I Love You. with good music, and is possibly one of the best The Neighbourhood songs, which is why its on this list, which sadly has come to a close.
